During the 1940s, the Japanese dug tunnels underground to store their military supplies and weapons. The American forces then found and bombed the tunnels, trapping hundreds of Japanese soldiers inside.

Since the tunnel’s reopening, many visitors have claimed to hear strange sounds and saw headless soldiers inside. Some locals also believed the tunnels house the infamous Yamashita’s treasure. However, no further evidence has been found to back this claim.

The Murder Woods of Camp John Hay

During World War II, these woods were where soldiers took their prisoners of war and executed them on the spot – leaving the corpses out in the open without proper burial rites. There were also reports of people going into the forest and disappearing.

If you are ever brave enough to visit this location, you should proceed with caution.

The place where the old Hyatt Terraces Hotel once stood is now enclosed for safety, making this one of Baguio’s most haunted sites. This is where the devastating earthquake of 1990 caused the collapse of the 12-story hotel and killed hundreds of guests and employees.

When local taxi drivers pass by at night, they make sure to blow their horns out of respect, and those who forget would claim to see maimed corpses across the street, as though still waiting for the rescue that will not come.

Old Diplomat Hotel

In 1911, the Dominican priests had originally established the Diplomat Hotel as a seminary. During the Second World War, the Japanese raided the retreat house and massacred and decapitated priests, nuns, and refugees.

Those who went into these ruins have reported seeing headless priests, sinister apparitions, the old fountain pouring with blood, or hearing terrible screams and sinister laughter.

Tourists are welcome to visit the Diplomat Hotel for free, however, they are not permitted to remain till evening or overnight for safety reasons.

Baguio Festival of Horrors

Stay Dead is a survival game where you can fight zombies while completing tasks with friends. It began in 2010 and became an instant hit, attracting large crowds both inside and outside of Baguio City. You would be playing outdoors at the park area at night where you could also wield weapons and have fun fighting in a zombie apocalypse.

And of course, as a closing event to Halloween, Session Road is transformed into a horde of zombies on Sunday – where you can dress as a rotting corpse or even Michael Jackson dancing Thriller and join the parade of zombies at night.
